The future of green and smart energy, as well as circular economy, is highlighted through the 3rd edition of the Forward Green and Renewable EnergyTech exhibitions, which started today at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center and will run until March 28.
At the opening ceremony of the two exhibitions, held today, an address was delivered by His Eminence Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr Philotheos, who honoured the event with his presence.
From the podium of the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Interior, responsible for Local Government matters, Mr Vasilis Spanakis, spoke of an excellent event, while he referred extensively to the development of local government, also presenting a review of the relevant initiatives of the State in recent years.
On his part, the Deputy Minister of Interior (responsible for Macedonia–Thrace matters), Mr Konstantinos Gioulekas, noted that the Forward Green and Renewable EnergyTech exhibitions constitute a window to the future, while stressing that younger generations demand the adoption of circular economy principles in order to reverse climate change.
The Secretary General for Waste Management Coordination of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (who represented the Minister of Environment and Energy), Mr Emmanouil Grafakos, described the current unstable landscape in energy and highlighted the role of local government in developments in energy and environmental issues.
The President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece and Mayor of Ampelokipoi-Menemeni, Mr Lazaros Kyrizoglou, also addressed the event, welcoming both the Scientific Conference of the Panhellenic Association of General Secretaries of Local Government “Kleisthenis” and the organisation of the Forward Green and Renewable EnergyTech exhibitions.
The President of the Panhellenic Association of General Secretaries of Local Government “Kleisthenis”, Mr Panagiotis Grigorakos, highlighted the great organisational success of the “Kleisthenis” Scientific Conference, as well as the contribution and role of general secretaries in local government.
The Deputy Regional Governor of Thessaloniki (Metropolitan Unit), Mr Konstantinos Gioutikas (who also represented the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia), stressed that the Region is among the 10 most active in Europe in the fields of bioeconomy and circular economy.
The Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr Stelios Angeloudis, underlined that the city warmly embraces both the “Kleisthenis” Conference and the two exhibitions, while the Deputy Mayor for Innovation, Startups, Volunteering and Youth of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Mr Spyros Tzelepis, highlighted the role of Thessaloniki in green development and energy innovation.
The CEO of TIF-HELEXPO, Mr Andreas Mavrommatis, noted that the two exhibitions strategically invest in international networking. In this context, in the specially designed area of Pavilion 13, a structured programme of pre-arranged bilateral business meetings is being implemented. Specifically, 72 selected international trade visitors are expected to carry out more than 200 targeted contacts, decisively strengthening exhibitors’ extroversion and expanding their customer base.
The Director of energypress.gr and co-organiser of the exhibition, Mr Theodoros Panagoulis, stressed that the exhibition duo of Forward Green and Renewable EnergyTech now consolidates its position in highly dynamic sectors, those of green-smart energy and circular economy.
It should be noted that within the framework of the two exhibitions, the rich programme of parallel events Helexpo Dialogues https://www.forwardgreen-expo.gr/helexpo-dialogues/ brings the market into direct contact with innovation and the state. The organisation, for the first time, of the Scientific Conference of the Panhellenic Association of General Secretaries of Local Government “Kleisthenis”, supported by OTA Voice and with the participation of more than 150 Mayors, focuses on city resilience. At the same time, energypress.gr organises targeted discussions (Renewable Energy Forum Energypress) addressing the core of investment challenges in the energy sector. In addition, more than 35 company presentations will take place on the two open stages in Pavilions 13 and 15, while the programme is complemented by a timely roundtable discussion on the sustainability of hotel units, produced by TIF-HELEXPO in synergy with Cigaret Cycle.
The opening hours of Forward Green & Renewable EnergyTech on March 27 and 28 are from 10:00 to 19:00.
